Raised in the vibrant city of Antwerp, Belgium, I was immersed in an aesthetic ambiance that blended history, art, and design. My father, an interior architect and designer, instilled in me a profound appreciation for the meticulous craftsmanship, fine artistry, and unwavering dedication that characterize quality design.

 

For over four decades, shaving with straight razors has been an enduring passion of mine. At the age of eighteen, I acquired my first straight razor, and since then, I have amassed a collection of vintage razors throughout my life. This passion has evolved into a diverse range of endeavors, including restorations, re-scaling, custom-made razors, and honing services.

My professional journey commenced in the diamond industry, where I dedicated three years to diamond polishing and subsequently spent twelve years engaged in diamond cleaving. After nearly eighteen years of traveling globally within the high-end fashion industry, I developed a personal vision to introduce my collection of custom straight razors in 2008.  

 

Max Sprecher Custom Straight Razors have established themselves as industry leaders in innovation, design trendsetting, and exceptional quality.

I provide honing services, restoration services for vintage or newly produced razors, and custom-made straight razors crafted in the United States. These razors are meticulously handcrafted in my workshop through profiling and cutting bare metal, forging, master grinding, heat treatment, quenching, tempering, final grinding, hand sanding, and the creation of scales. Each razor receives my utmost attention.

 

My primary objectives when creating custom straight razors are to achieve elegance, tradition, timeless quality, style, the avant-garde, an exceptional eye for detail, form, function, and impeccable craftsmanship.
