The Dovo Col. Ichabod Conk is a 6/8", half round, half hollow blade, hand crafted of carbon steel in Solingen Germany. The razor is offered with black glossy acrylic scales and comes with a 'Col. Ichabod Conk' etching on the hollow grind. Although the razor is advertised and sold as 6/8, I measured some to be nearly 7/8 while most actually measure 13/16 which is always a nice bonus.
Dovo teamed up with Colonel Ichabod Conk who are world renowned for their classic shaving supplies. They are best known for their shaving soap, which is a glycerin puck offered in several different scents. For the price this is an excellent razor. You get a pretty large. solid razor with basic scales. However the razor will need good maintenance as the carbon steel used tends to stain this straight razor extremely fast. It it a stiffer half hollow grind and being on the wider side really helps for those with a coarser and rougher beard. Comes in a blue metal storage box. They are nice razors for beginners or seasoned straight razor users.
Dovo razors come standard with a factory edge but are nowhere near a true professionally honed razor's edge. Having honed thousands of factory send Dovo razors I advise you to either purchase the razor from a reputable store that sells the razor as 'shave ready' or you can order a honing service straight from my web site to have it professionally honed/sharpened especially if you are starting out with your first straight razor shave.
