Moissanite

Moissanite is a rare mineral composed of silicon carbide. Today, moissanite is exclusively grown in laboratories as an alternative to diamonds. Diamonds are composed of carbon and moissanites are composed of silicon carbide. Moissanites are slightly more brilliant than diamonds. Moissanite is grown in controlled laboratories by professionals. Once formed, they're cut and polished. Compared to cubic zirconia, Moissanite has a higher hardness (9.25 MOHS), more fire, and slightly more color variation, while cubic zirconia is typically colorless with less fire and a slightly lower hardness score (8.25 MOHS). Diamonds have a hardness of 10 MOHS.

24K Gold

24-karat gold is 100%, as-pure-as-it-gets gold, meaning it is non-alloyed. It is also the most expensive type of gold on the market today. Sourcing pure gold is a taxing endeavour and it is not found in abundant quantities. It is precisely this scarcity that makes 24k gold so precious, valuable, and desired.

The scales are 100% genuine awabi shell on a white backing and covered with a durable topcoat of industrial resin making them very sturdy, maintenance free and at the same time protecting the shell.

It's very difficult to accurately capture the exact colors of the scales because shell is very iridescent and changes hue at every angle.

Awabi (Abalone) are fist-sized sea snails that live in the sea around Japan at a depth of approximately twenty meters. They are usually caught by skin divers, as it is prohibited to catch awabi while using air tanks in Japan in order to prevent overfishing. Given their declining numbers and the effort required to catch them, awabi are rare and expensive, especially big ones. It takes five years for them to grow to a size of four inches. Awabi (abalone) are very precious food in Japan.

All engraving is done by hand. It takes many hours to engrave.

  • GPSR (General Product Safety Regulation)

The new GPSR regulation will become effective in Europe on December 13, 2024.

This new law is intended for individuals or companies engaged in business transactions with or within the European Union.

The GPSR requires that all consumer products on the EU markets are safe and it establishes specific obligations for businesses to ensure it.

Sellers are compelled to engage in hiring or establishing a European-based economic operator, basically a local EU authorized company that will represent them. For each country you sell into you'll need to register the EU responsible person with that marketplace, maintain comprehensive technical documentation, compile a declaration of conformity, ensure proper identification for each item and disclose the manufacturer’s name and address on every listing, thereby compromising privacy concerns. These are merely some of the primary requirements.

Given the cost prohibitive, excessive and unreasonable requirements, particularly for small-scale sellers, I have made the decision to discontinue offering and selling my products to the European Union.

The future trajectory of this situation remains uncertain. Should regulations be modified or simplified to accommodate small businesses, I may reconsider reinstating shipping to Europe
